lcvwinter2014coverWe’re proud to announce the 100th issue of Louisiana Cultural Vistas, the LEH’s award-winning quarterly magazine. The LEH thanks the contributors, subscribers, board members, partner organizations and advertisers who’ve made possible a quarter century of Louisiana stories. The issue releases on December 15.

We hope you can celebrate with us this holiday season. Subscribe today to receive the Winter 2014-15 issue and support our ongoing mission to document the unparalleled culture of our state. Subscriptions are $20 for four issues.

Since October 14, we’ve posted daily to the magazine’s new website, showcasing the very best from our archives. We’ll continue #LCV100 until January 22, when the LEH celebrates 100 issues with a party at the Louisiana Humanities Center in New Orleans. Stay tuned for more details on the festivities.

The new issue features fresh work from photographers Pableaux Johnson and Neil Johnson, articles by Ginger Jones, Shelene Roumillat and Martha Fitzgerald; columns by Richard Campanella, Karen Kingsley and Matt Sakakeeny; reviews by Ben Sandmel and Thomas Uskali; partner sections from the Historic New Orleans Collection, Louisiana Association of Museums, Louisiana State Museum, New Orleans Museum of Art and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art; and a 100th issue retrospective by Executive Editor David Johnson.

The issue also includes a new collaboration with producer Eve Abrams and New Orleans public radio station WWNO 89.9FM. As part of LCV’s commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans, Abrams wrote “The Defeat of Fazendville,” a history of the community that lived on the Chalmette Battlefield. A radio segment based on the piece will be broadcast on WWNO the week of January 5.

We hope you’ll subscribe to LCV today and join us as we continue the explore the history and culture of Louisiana.
