Your financial support remains the lifeblood of our operations. Unrestricted annual giving is the foundation of all of our arts, cultural and educational programming, including PRIME TIME Family Reading Time, Louisiana Cultural Vistas magazine, LEH Grants, KnowLouisiana, the Louisiana Poet Laureate, Readings in Literature and Culture, the LEH Humanities Awards, the Louisiana Humanities Center, and other vibrant partnerships with cultural standard bearers across Louisiana.
For 45 years, the LEH has been delivering access to our cultural heritage to all Louisianans. Each year, we produce exhibits, grants, lectures, public programs, multi-media publications and workshops. Each day, we warmly extend invitations to analyze, interpret and participate in Louisiana’s stirring literary tradition, singular historical narratives, and distinctly inventive sounds and icons.
Giving to the LEH sustains our dedication to engaging thoughtfully informed, culturally curious, and intellectually courageous advocates for the humanities, throughout our state and beyond. Humanities supporters are independent thinkers, fearless in the debate of life’s essential questions, such as what it means to actively participate in a democratic society in these tumultuously changing times.
Our supporters carry the memories of practices and traditions of the past, understand their thread to the customs of the present, and they value how this rigorous memory undergirds and reveals new ways of meeting our shared social challenges of the future. Advocates for the humanities champion open debate and civic discourse.
