On Tuesday, June 16, the Louisiana Humanities Center hosts a free screening of Slavery By Another Name, an acclaimed documentary directed by Sam Pollard. The event is co-hosted by Le Musee de f.p.c. and The McKenna Museum of African American Art. Scholar Jari Honora will introduce the film at 6pm.
The screening marks the LEH’s fourth and final installment in the Created Equal
series, a national film project of the National Endowment for the Humanities
to commemorate the anniversaries of the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation and the 1963 March on Washington. The June 16 event at the Louisiana Humanities Center
also honors the 150th anniversary of Juneteenth holiday, observed on June 19. Click here
