Great audiences for “Generations of Struggle” reading program in Natchitoches

Looking for a summer reading program? LEH partners at the St. James Parish Library and the Lafourche Parish Library offer “Generations of Struggle” this month.

“Generations of Struggle: Perspectives on Race and Justice from Reconstruction to the Present” is a 4-week program that centers on the experience of African Americans since the Civil War. Participating libraries receive $1,000 grants to hire discussion leaders for conversations on three critically acclaimed works. The program is made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
