Community Foundation of North LA Renews Support for PRIME TIME

The Community Foundation of North Louisiana has invested $30,000 to continue PRIME TIME Full Circle family literacy programs, including the turnkey preschool readiness, family reading time, and teacher professional development in Bossier, Caddo, and DeSoto parishes in 2016-2017. This is the fifth year that the Community Foundation has invested in the success of the PRIME TIME programs in North Louisiana, and the first year that Bossier and DeSoto parishes have been included.

The Full Circle suite of programs include Preschool, a program that allows families and their preschool-aged children opportunities to acquaint themselves with their school facilities, teachers, and other community support systems, while they begin to learn about book sharing and reading together as a family.

PRIME TIME Family Reading Time teaches families the value of reading and discussing humanities-themed books, and facilitates family bonding around reading together.

The HomeRoom teacher professional development facet provides enhanced learning and teaching techniques for educators who continue the PRIME TIME methodology forward into their classrooms. For more on the full array of PRIME TIME programs, visit here.
